8 Ways to be Joyful
When was the last time you expressed pure unadulterated joy
when
something wonderful happened to you? Now’s a great time to
start!
- Make up a dance you can do whenever
something goes right. Call it the Dance of Joy.
- Smile. If something’s going to be contagious
this holiday season, why not make it a toothy grin?
- Look for the joy in everything. It’s there, even
though sometimes it’s wrapped up in a lot of layers.
- Act like a dog and let everyone know when you’re
happy to see them.
- Be thankful for littlest of good things. If there’s exactly enough paper in the printer to print out
your holiday cards or the glass you drop on the floor doesn’t break, say
“Thanks.” See how
much better you feel.
- Instead of asking friends and family members
“How was your day?” ask “What’s the best thing that happened to you today?”
- Sing. Studies show that singing truly is
making a joyful noise – it reduces stress and helps us breathe better.
- Keep a joy journal. Record everything that
happens each day that brings a smile to your soul.
